Exploring “Subextraction” in Russian
After studying Czech language in college, I became interested in Slavic language acquisition, and approached the Harvard Linguistics Department about doing research with them on the subject. I carried out behavioral experiments under Polinsky and Gagliardi in the Polinsky Language Sciences Lab and wrote two papers about our findings. The papers can be downloaded below. Though this project is currently on the back burner, it is not finished—I have a targeted, follow-up experiment ready to run when time allows, which will allow us to answer some of the follow-up questions I lay out in my second paper.

I built this website from scratch using HTML and CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript. It’s responsive to the size of your screen, so whether you’re browsing on a phone, a tablet, or a laptop, you should get something that functions and looks nice. If you notice anything to the contrary, please send me an email at jonathan.lee.rossi@gmail.com so that I can fix it! Thanks
